Sons of the American Legion
The Sons of the American Legion (SAL) was founded in September of 1932 and exists to honor the service and sacrifice of Legionnaires. SAL members are male descendants of people who served in the United States Armed Forces during times specified by the American Legion. As part of the Legion family, the SAL is committed to preserving American traditions and values, improving the quality of life of our nation's children, caring for veterans and their families and teaching the fundamentals of good citizenship. Squadron 139, the Lyndhurst Sons of the American Legion chapter, was established on October 18, 1934 and focuses on supporting local and national organizations; which includes raising money for the Kenny Stevens Scholarship, Paramus Veterans Home, Give the Kids the World as well supporting our local police, fire, and emergency medical services to name a few.
