American Legion License Plate Exchange
I bet you're wondering what exactly is the license plate exchange? The license plate exchange is a time honored tradition that local chapters, or posts, have participated in throughout the years. When a member of the American Legion Family, whether that's a Legionnaire, SAL member or Auxiliary member, is traveling throughout the States or visiting one of our international chapter, they would carry license plates with them.
The license plate represents their home post and when visiting the local post of the area they were traveling in, they would trade or exchange license plates with that post. This was and still continues to be a great way to network among posts and a great piece of history to see how many posts are out there and who has traveled the farthest! Did you know we have one all the way from Hawaii!

So while we were in Wildwood, we stop at the local post, Post 184 and we had noticed that our license plate had gone missing. We had already done a license plate exchange way back when! We were fortunate that Michelle Kozlowski, an Auxiliary member, had an extra plate leftover from her recent travels. We were very happy to drop off our license plate and have Post 139 represented again down at the Wildwood post.

Take a look below! Here are some of the plates Post 139 has exchanged over the years!
